Audiology Technician and Care Coordinator

An audiology technician and care coordinator is a health professional who ensures that patients get the best care possible. They listen to patients and their families to ensure needs are being addressed, educate patients on medical procedures or conditions, keep patient records up to date, and act as a liaison between the patient and audiologist by keeping the lines of communication flowing.

Job Responsibilities of an Audiology Technician

 Responsibilities of patient care coordinators:

  • Assist during audiological evaluations
  • Instruct patients and families in the use of hearing technology equipment
  • Troubleshoot hearing technology devices
  • Maintain organization and recording of hearing technology equipment
  • Answer patient calls, emails and questions, including finding insurance estimates
  • Confidentially manage patient accounts
  • Schedule patient visits and answer pre-visit questions, including about billing
  • Ensure compliance with professional standards & regulatory requirements
  • Discuss cost of service, insurance coverage, and payment options with the patient
  • Work as a team player to ensure each patient receives the best service possible
  • Get prior authorizations for procedures
  • Scan documents into patient charts
  • Meet with patients and families regarding treatments, procedures, and continuing care.
  • Assist care team with setting goals for quality assurance and best practices
  • Provide community resources and referrals for continuing care

Part-time position available Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays in our Hadley location: 104 Russell Street, Hadley, MA 01035
